Playing for free - the end of the argument
As regular readers know, I generally use this blog to celebrate the awesomeness of the all-encompassing talent of our town and county. Sometimes I use this blog to highlight a specific individual, event or recording that I believe is worth wider attention to those who kindly chose to read it. Sometimes I use it to discuss and inform others about my work with the vast number of musically minded...

In writing this months blog I decided to take a look at last years April entry to see what was up… Needless to say it turns out I was as busy as ever. We’d just had the first Town Hall meeting about the need for a community arts centre in Cheltenham to fill the void left behind the Axiom. From the hundreds of responses I received, they generally fell into the following three...

Hello there! Time to do loads of blogging today, as well as a starting a new one about appreciating my musical office-based bearded chum Marcus - keep your eyes out for a link later… February was a busy month, here’s an except from my calendar: AV Club meetings with Uni students for staffing festivals in 2012 First POM event of the year 2nd > 5th I was in Chamonix playing...

BBC Gloucestershire Documentary on Cheltenham... →
We don’t just get a load of coverage on BBC Gloucestershire Introducing in this county, looks like we’re fit for a whole hour documentary too! Couple of young chaps doing a great job of covering some up and coming local artists. Good first-hand insight into how the ‘new generation’ of musicians in and around Cheltenham view the music scene that was literally non-existant...

An international view of Cheltenham →
Here’s a short blog I found written by a student visiting Cheltenham from the state of New York - click the title above to view. Some lovely parallels to a town an ocean away and a surprisingly poignant conclusion. Why is it on the MND blog? Well, this is an example of how some of our visitors view our lovely town; sometimes as residents it can be easy to forget. Secondly - lots of...

Hello all! Well, it’s been a while but things have been busier than ever - as I’m sure you can imagine… CATCH UP It’d be fair to say it’s been a few months since the last post (JULY in fact!) so let’s use bullet points to catch up and attempt to avoid my usual waffle… JULY THIS IS LOVE, NOW IT’S LOST I lost the new Midnight Mile album from three...

Reading and Writing: An Interlude
WARNING! I suppose you’ve got used to me running off topic once in a while, but don’t worry - this does contain some relevant material about sound! As this is probably going to be one of ‘those’ posts, I should warn you that if you’re not all up in the blogosphere grill then you won’t be interested and probably stopped reading at the word...

Turns out I’m sticking my nose into my own business nowadays. New blog for my political activity around sorting out and protecting my home ward of St Paul’s in Cheltenham.

Andrew Lansley on Twitter →
I don’t like Twitter, but there you go. If it’s a good way to update loads of people at once and if it means another level of transparency, then I should probably go the whole hog and make my life entirely public. As for my love for the clunky old Tumblr? I’ve done so many posts here that it seems silly to leave the old girl now, just cheat on her with the slutty celeb-friendly...

Hello all, Quick blog today as I think a quick peek below will give you a good idea what I’ve been up to. Just to say that I’m getting around everyone’s emails and messages (there were a LOT) and that if you’ve not heard back from me yet, then you will do soon. Cheers for now, Andrew

Potential for a new music & arts venue in... →
Finally - I can confirm some good news from work I’ve been doing with all of the arts, music and community groups around town. We are looking at the viability of what would essentially be a new community arts centre in Cheltenham! Details coming very soon… BRILLIANT!
